Another remedy is apple cider vinegar. Prior to bedtime, mix 4 cups of warm water and 1/3 cup apple cider vinegar. Expose the scalp by parting your hair, then dab your scalp with a cotton ball soaked in the mixture. Go to sleep, with your hair wrapped in a warm towel. Cover and refrigerate the remaining mixture for use as a rinse after shampooing the next morning. Shampoo your hair and after conditioning simply pour it over your hair, work it in, and leave it. Style as usual. This treatment will give you temporary itch relief.
• Diet Changes
A healthy diet of raw food with plenty of vitamins is beneficial for itchy scalp. Choose whole grain breads and leafy green vegetables.
• Fatty Acids
Supplements of essential fatty acids also have been effective in relieving an inflamed or itchy scalp the daily recommended supplements are flax seed oil, salmon oil or primrose oil.
Several vitamins help avoid dry skin and are important for a healthy scalp. The recommended vitamins for this treatment are vitamins A, B, and E.

Additional Helpful Suggestions
Avoid fried foods, milk products, white sugar, white flour, nuts, seafood or chocolate. Also, consider discontinuing the use of mousse, sprays and gel. These products tend to dry out the scalp, causing it to itch.
