There are many herbs for menopause products on the market that claim to help with symptoms of menopause, but since herbs aren’t regulated the same way drugs are, it’s hard to know which claims are true. There is limited and conflicting research on many herbs, however, there are some herbs that many women have used and found to relieve menopause symptoms.
Herbs for Menopause
Here are some of the more popular herbs for treating menopausal symptoms:

- Chasteberry
Chasteberries contain progestins, which help to relieve hot flashes and vaginal dryness. Chasteberry has an effect on dopamine in the brain and should not be used by people who take dompamine-type medications, such anti-psychotic drugs and some drugs for Parkinson’s disease.
- Black Cohosh
Black Cohosh has been found to relieve night sweats and hot flashes. There are several commercial products made for symptoms of menopause that contain black cohosh. Remifemin is a popular one. - St. John’s Wort
St. John’s Wort has been found to help with mild depression and the mood swings that come with menopause.
